Hi, hello, how are you? Welcome back to the blog — or if you’re new here, I’m Flor! I’m a 30-something Argentinian living, working, and constantly melting in New York City. I’m the kind of person who romanticizes everyday life, even when it’s 33°C (that’s 91°F for my American friends) and I’m literally sweating through my dress.
Today I want to share a full day in my life in NYC — one of those “come with me” kind of days that I personally love watching. Instead of filming over a few days, I challenged myself to do just one day. One jam-packed, very summery, very humid, very New York day. Three events, three different vibes — all in 12-ish hours.
But before we dive in: here’s the video that captures it all. Watch it here, and then scroll for all the behind-the-scenes thoughts, links, outfit recs, and of course… the glow-up moment. ✨
My Look of the Day (aka how I survived the heat)
First things first: this weather is no joke. I’m not built for summer in NYC. It’s hot, sticky, and did I mention hot? But my dress saved me. It’s this flowy little H&M number I picked up a few weeks ago, and it instantly gave me European summer vibes when I tried it on. If it’s still available, I’ll link it [here].
What made this look even better? Boob tape. Yup. I finally tried it — the kind you get on Amazon that comes in different skin tone shades — and I’m obsessed. No bra, no straps, no peeking… just a smooth, clean look. Even with the humidity, it held up all day. Highly recommend if you’re also looking for summer alternatives that don’t make you feel like you’re suffocating in your own underwear.
Event 1: Lunch with Dr. Brandt 🍽
The day kicked off with a lovely lunch hosted by Dr. Brandt — yes, that Dr. Brandt. Their team is so kind, and honestly, it’s always nice to put faces to the people behind the brand.
We talked skincare (obviously), and I left with two products:
- Microdermabrasion – An old fave I’ve raved about on IG Stories before. It makes your skin baby-smooth. I swear by it.
- Drops of Strength Serum – This one is new to me and I can’t wait to try it. Sounds like a little spa moment in a bottle.
I’ll report back with thoughts, but if you’re in the market for a good exfoliator, the microdermabrasion is a must.
Event 2: The Facial of My Dreams 🧖♀️
After lunch, I headed to Taylor Worden Skin, and… wow. Just wow. I’ve had facials in NYC before, but this one? On another level.
From the facial massage (so relaxing, I almost cried) to the deep exfoliation, this was pure luxury. What stood out the most was how much it helped with my jaw tension. I grind my teeth at night and carry a ton of tension there, and Taylor did some serious magic. My face felt sculpted, lifted, and so much less puffy. I walked out only wearing SPF and lip gloss — no makeup, just a glow I didn’t even know I could achieve.
If you’re in the city and want to treat yourself, go here. Your face will thank you.
Event 3: A Sunset Cruise with Natura 🌅
To close out the day, I headed to Brooklyn for a sunset cruise along the East River with Natura — a Brazilian brand I’ve known and loved forever (they’re huge in Argentina). The vibes were immaculate.
Even though I was sticky and tired, I couldn’t help but enjoy myself. The marina (I think it’s called 115 Degrees?) was gorgeous, and I had one of those NYC moments where everything feels like a scene from a movie. I walked down the cutest street (Joralemon St — if you know, you know), and I was like, do I need a house here? I might. I truly might.
By the time the sun dipped over the water, I felt so lucky. Hot, tired, yes — but lucky. This city can be overwhelming and chaotic, but it also gives you these perfect little windows of magic. I always say New York makes you work for it, but when it delivers… it really delivers.
Final Thoughts
I know these kinds of “day in the life” vlogs might seem simple, but they’re my favorite to make — and to look back on. They’re a reminder that even the busiest days can be beautiful. Even when you’re sweating through your clothes and running from one borough to another, you’re still creating memories that feel like a little love letter to the life you’re building.
Thanks for following along with me. Let me know if you liked this style of vlog — I might make it a monthly thing. And if you try the boob tape, the microdermabrasion, or just want to vent about this heat? I’m all ears. Drop a comment on YouTube or shoot me a DM on Instagram @flopereira. 💛
Talk soon,
Flor.
