Hey friend,
I know it’s been a minute since we properly caught up—and not just a quick update in the DMs or a rushed comment under an IG post. I’m talking real catch-up, the kind you’d have with a friend over coffee while you both slowly wake up and put your face on for the day. That’s exactly what today’s video feels like—and I wanted to bring that same vibe here to the blog too. So, if you’re down for a slow morning moment, scroll down, hit play, and get comfy. ☕👇
Life Lately: The Speed Run
Let me tell you… the last couple of weeks? Chaos. Beautiful chaos, but chaos nonetheless.
It all started with Halloween. I went hard for spooky season content on YouTube—posting nonstop for three straight weeks. I loved creating those videos (and I’m so happy you enjoyed them too!), but by the end of October, I was tired. Like, bone-deep tired.
Then on October 30th, I took Julia for a walk around the Upper West Side to see Halloween decorations. Last year, she was still a little baby-baby and didn’t fully get it—but this year? She was SO into it. Skeletons, spiders, all the creepy-cute things. She wore a little matching outfit with me (of course we had to), and her joy made every bit of exhaustion worth it.
Halloween itself? We went full Jurassic Park mode. Julia was the dino, Tom and I were characters from the movie, and we trick-or-treated all around the neighborhood. It was one of those New York moments that felt like a movie.
Time Changes, Marathons, and Mood Swings
Then came November. And everything shifted—literally. Daylight savings hit, and Julia started waking up before 6 AM (IYKYK 😵💫). Add to that the NYC Marathon (my favorite Sunday of the year!), a whirlwind of family visits, and the general election-week anxiety that took over the city like a thick fog… and yeah, your girl was wiped.
On Election Day, I tried to keep it together by shooting a campaign while blasting Taylor Swift on repeat. I figured singing my way through the day was better than doomscrolling CNN, and honestly? It worked. Temporarily.
But by Wednesday night, the stress had fully settled into my body. Even my Oura ring was like: “Hey babe, you need a nap and a hug.” 😂
Julia Turned TWO (I’m Not Crying, You Are)
Among all the chaos, we also celebrated Julia’s second birthday. Two! I honestly can’t believe it.
We had a small celebration at our local playground, surrounded by friends from her daycare, my content creator besties and their little ones, and even some friends without kids who still came to show love. It was sweet, low-key, and filled with croissants, pastries, and lots of playground joy.
I kept thinking: how has it already been two years? And also—how has it only been two years? Motherhood plays this trick on time that I’ll never fully understand. But man, am I grateful.
Burnout, Breakdowns & (Finally) a Reset
After all that—the content creation, the early wake-ups, the emotional weight of the election, family visits, party planning—I crashed. Hard.
Monday hit me like a truck. I got my period (TMI? Please, we’re friends here), and it felt like my entire body was like: “Nope. You’re done now.” So I listened. I rested. I slept. I wore cozy sweaters and said no to everything I could. And little by little, I started to feel like myself again.
Thank You for Being Here
This video is me inviting you to sit with me through all of that—chatting while we do skincare, makeup, and sip coffee from a reusable birthday-party cup (long story, watch the video 😅).
It’s a little chaotic, super cozy, and a lot real. And honestly? That’s what I hope this blog (and my YouTube channel, and Instagram, and newsletter, and entire digital life) always feels like: like a space to just be.
Thanks for picking up my FaceTime call today. 💛
Talk soon.
