There’s something I’ll never get tired of: those random, magical days in New York City when everything aligns perfectly—friends, events, the subway being almost on time—and you remember why you moved here in the first place.
In this vlog (which you can watch below!), I’m taking you along with me for a few of those special days that felt like a perfect mix of fun, community, and just the right amount of chaos. If you love dinosaurs, skincare, and unboxings as much as I do—this one’s for you.
The Jurassic World Event of My Literal Dreams 🦖✨
Okay—imagine your childhood obsession colliding with your adult life in the form of a Jurassic Park shopping event in NYC. That’s exactly what happened to me. I got to attend this dreamy pop-up where they showcased everything from dino-inspired robes and pajamas to adorable kids’ books and the cutest dog toys ever (yes, Oreo was thrilled).
The best part? It wasn’t just a look-and-leave type of event. We got to actually fill up a bag with the products we loved the most. And as someone who can basically quote the first Jurassic Park movie, I was so ready.
Here’s a peek at some of my favorite finds:
- A soft, cozy robe + matching pajama pants featuring little T-Rexes and raptors (DYING).
- A grilled cheese/sandwich maker that leaves a dino print on your toast. I mean??? This is what dreams are made of.
- Dog toys from Bark that look like tiny T-Rexes and raptors. Oreo immediately picked her favorite and has not stopped squeaking since.
- A baby bathrobe with a little dinosaur hood for my little one on the way 🥹
- A kids’ counting book called The Very Hungry Dinosaur—because of course I’m building a dino library already.
- Makeup sponges shaped like dino eggs. Cute AND practical.
- And my personal treasure: Jurassic Park: The Ultimate Official History. This book is filled with behind-the-scenes photos and stories about the making of the first three films. If you’re a movie nerd like me, it’s everything.
The Most Intimate Kiehl’s Dinner 🕯️💆🏻♀️
The next evening, I got invited to a Kiehl’s dinner—my first ever with the brand! Even though they’d reached out before, things hadn’t worked out. But this time, I finally made it—and it felt like such a full-circle moment.
It was a small, candle-lit dinner (truly the most intimate brand event I’ve ever been to), and they were presenting their new Retinol Fast Release Wrinkle-Reducing Night Serum. The concept? Speed. Fast-working formula, fast cars (yes, they actually picked us up in sports cars), and quick results.
Since I’m currently pregnant, I’m not using retinol—but I was able to take two home and I’m saving them for my mom and sister. I know they’ll be thrilled. Honestly, even just being in that room with fellow content creators and kind PR people felt so special.
A Little Bit of Reflection 💭
Being invited to events like these always reminds me of why I started sharing online in the first place. It’s not about the free products or the hype (though both are nice), but about the community, the storytelling, and the way we all connect over the little things: skincare we love, childhood obsessions, or what we’re packing in our hospital bag.
If you’re reading this, thank you for being here. For watching my videos, commenting on my posts, and being part of this corner of the internet that I’ve been lucky to build. It means everything.
So—whether you’re here for the dino haul, the Kiehl’s unboxing, or just to spend a few minutes in NYC with me, I hope this vlog brought a little joy to your day.
Sending you hugs from me (and Oreo 🐶),
Flor
