A Few Days in My Life in NYC: Events, Team Pixel, and New Mom Moments

Life lately has felt like a whirlwind—in the best way possible. Between content creation, being a mom, and attending events around New York City, there’s always something going on. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If you’re new here: hi! I’m Flor—a full-time content creator, book lover, and mom living in NYC. I love sharing the behind-the-scenes of what my life really looks like, from the fun and glamorous moments (like attending an event at the founder of Ceremonia’s house!) to the more chaotic day-to-day ones (like figuring out how to attend an event with a baby in tow—spoiler alert: we made it work!).

If you prefer to watch what the past few days looked like, here’s the vlog:

Now let’s rewind a bit. This was my first vlog of May, and it honestly set the tone for what I hope this month will be: meaningful, exciting, and full of connection.

Attending My First Event of the Month — with a Plus One

On May 4th, I kicked things off by heading to an event—and this time, I wasn’t going alone. I asked the PR team if I could bring my daughter along, and they said yes. I always want to make sure she doesn’t disrupt anything, but it meant so much to be able to attend with her. Being a mom has shifted so much of how I approach my work, but I love moments like this where both worlds can exist side by side.

Getting there was its own little adventure, of course, because New York’s subway isn’t exactly stroller-friendly (or accessible in general, let’s be real). But we made it to Spring Place and the event itself felt worth the effort. As always, when I’m vlogging, you’re coming with me—and I love that about this space we’ve created together.

Google I/O and My Pixel Love Story

Fast forward a bit, and it was time for one of my favorite events of the year: Google I/O. For those who don’t know, this is when Google announces all its new tech—apps, software, phones, you name it. This time they launched a new Pixel phone, and I’m so excited about it. I’ve had my eyes on foldable phones lately because I love the idea of having a massive screen for editing or watching videos (hello, multitasking).

I’ve been part of Team Pixel since 2016, right when I moved to NYC, and honestly, it’s one of the most special communities I’ve been part of. Back then, it was this tiny group—now it’s a super diverse, creative, and welcoming space. From photographers to architects, fashion creators to tech reviewers, it’s become a little ecosystem of support and inspiration.

Being part of Team Pixel was one of my first big brand partnerships when I was just starting out here. Since then, I’ve traveled with them to San Francisco, Texas, Upstate NY—you name it. It still blows my mind sometimes.

Ceremonia at Baba Rivera’s House

Next up: a dreamy event hosted by Ceremonia, a Latinx-founded haircare brand I genuinely love. And the venue? Baba Rivera’s home.

Going to someone’s house for an event in New York feels like such a rare thing. If you’re from Latin America like me, you know how common it is to have people over for dinner, drinks, or just to hang out. But in NYC, most socializing happens at restaurants or bars, so being invited into someone’s home feels… intimate. Special.

And it was special. The building was stunning, the event itself was small and thoughtful, and I loved seeing a different side of the brand and its founder. It reminded me of why I love being part of this industry—not just for the cool products or aesthetics, but for the people and the stories behind them.

Also: if you were wondering, my dress was from Ingrid & Isabel, a maternity-friendly brand that also works for postpartum and beyond. I love when brands get that your body and style can shift and evolve—and they design accordingly.

A Few Thoughts About NYC Events, Motherhood & Community

Looking back at the three events I attended (and shared in the vlog), they were all beautifully intimate. I’m definitely in a season of my life where I value quality over quantity—whether it’s people, experiences, or time. Each of these events gave me the chance to connect, reconnect, and feel seen.

As a mom and creator, it’s easy to feel pulled in a million directions. But I’ve realized that when you surround yourself with community, with real human connection, things feel a little lighter—even when they’re busy.

If you made it to the end of this blog post (hi, I love you), I’d love to know: which event from the vlog was your favorite? Was it the Google launch, the fashion-forward opening, or the cozy Ceremonia gathering?

Thanks for reading, for watching, and for being here with me. Until next time ✨

Flor.
