Hey hey — Flor here 👋🏼
This week’s vlog is one of those cozy, chatty videos where we catch up, talk beauty, life updates, and yes, the new haircut (!!). If you’re new here, I’m a first-time mom living in New York City, sharing pieces of my life through weekly vlogs, beauty recs, and behind-the-scenes content from my job as a full-time creator. And if you’ve been here for a while — hi again, you already know I love sitting down and chatting with you like we’re friends on FaceTime. 💬
Today’s post is kind of a love letter to the little things: a new haircut that made me feel like me again, products I’m genuinely excited to try, and brands that go above and beyond when it comes to making people feel seen. You’ll find the full vlog embedded below so you can watch as you read, or just kick back and enjoy the long version here. ☕️📦💇🏻♀️

The Haircut I Didn’t Know I Needed 💇🏻♀️✨
Okay, we need to talk about the hair first — because I’m obsessed.
After months (okay, maybe a year) of just “trimming the ends,” I finally went for a shorter cut again. It’s giving 2020 Flor energy and I’m so here for it. The weather was a little chaotic (hello NYC rain frizz), but I swear it still looked cute even with the mist. I went to Rob Peetoom, a salon that’s been on my radar for a while — and WOW. The space, the vibe, the actual haircut? 10/10. I’ll leave the names and Instagrams of the stylists I saw in the description box of the video, but truly, if you’re looking for a new salon in the city, this is a great place to start.
There’s something so powerful about a haircut, especially after becoming a mom. This felt like me reclaiming a bit of myself — and I love that.
A Chill Day = The Perfect Excuse for Unboxings 📦💕
After the salon, I did a little show-and-tell with some products that came in the mail this past week. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I usually do these unboxings on Stories, but I love sharing them on YouTube too — it gives me more time to talk about why I’m excited, what I’ve used before, and what’s totally new to me.
Here’s what I unboxed:
✨ Dermaflash
They sent me two of their skincare tools — one for dermaplaning (removing peach fuzz and dead skin) and one for pore extraction using ultrasonic vibrations. I’ve never tried dermaplaning before and yes, I’m a little scared, but also so intrigued. I’ll definitely update you once I try both!
✨ Viktor & Rolf – Flowerbomb Ruby Orchid
My first ever Flowerbomb fragrance! I know, I know — people have been talking about this forever, but I’ve always been the kind of person who finishes one scent before starting a new one. (Please tell me I’m not the only one like this?!) The bottle is stunning, and it smells incredible.
✨ Philosophy
Philosophy always gets it right. This time, they sent over the most beautiful, pool-themed box full of their best sellers for summer: Purity cleanser, Microdelivery exfoliating wash, body washes, SPF, and even a hydration cube set. (Although, full disclosure: the watermelon-cucumber flavor is 100% for my husband. I’m more of a lemon-lime girl.)
And can I just say — I’m constantly impressed by how thoughtful their mailers are. During the holidays, they sent me a package, plus two pre-wrapped gifts to give to others. It meant everything, especially since I was in the thick of new motherhood and definitely not thinking about gift-giving. That level of care sticks with you.
✨ Sally Hansen – Totally 90s Collection
As a ‘90s baby, this one hit me right in the nostalgia. The packaging? Adorable. The colors? Perfect for summer. And get this — I was actually wearing one of their Miracle Gel polishes when Julia was born (!!). It survived days in the hospital, tons of tape-on-tape-off situations, and still looked great. So when they say “miracle gel,” I can confirm they’re not lying.
More Than Just Products ✨🫶🏼
One of the things I really wanted to highlight in this vlog — and here in the blog — is how brands can be personal and intentional. It’s not just about sending products or pitching campaigns. When a brand takes the time to curate a thoughtful experience — especially for creators like me who are juggling motherhood, work, and real life — it genuinely makes a difference. It makes me want to talk about them. And it reminds me that there are people behind every package, every ribbon-tied box.
So this post is my little appreciation moment. For the brands that care. For the tools and scents and serums that make us feel a little more ourselves. And for the haircut that turned a regular rainy day into something special. 💁🏻♀️
If you’ve tried any of the products I mentioned (or you have Qs about them), let me know in the comments! And if you haven’t yet — go watch the vlog! There’s a lot more chatting, some Julia cameos, and real-life NYC vibes sprinkled throughout. Thanks for hanging out with me here — I love writing these long posts and sharing a little more behind the scenes with you. 💬✨
