Welcome to our cozy New York City studio apartment! 🏙️
My husband Tomas, our French Bulldog Oreo, and I call this charming space home. Today, I’m thrilled to take you on a tour of our 400-square-foot studio. It’s small, but with a little creativity and clever organization, we’ve transformed it into a functional, stylish, and cozy retreat.

Maximizing Space: Functional Design Meets Personal Style
Our apartment may be compact, but we’ve divided it into distinct areas to make it feel larger and more functional. Here’s a breakdown of the space:
Entryway: Hats & Sunglasses Galore
• Hat Wall: A collection of my favorite hats hangs neatly on hooks for easy access and stylish decor.
• Sunglasses Display: Nail polish racks double as chic sunglasses holders near the door, making it easy to grab a pair before heading out.
Living Room: A Multi-Functional Hub
Our living room doubles as a guest space with a long, comfy couch from IKEA that’s perfect for overnight visitors.
• Smart Storage: Cabinets hide shoes, books, and everyday essentials like my wallet and MetroCard.
• Decor Touches: Prints of our favorite cities—New York, London, and Paris—add a personal touch to the walls.
Creative Storage Solutions in a Compact Space
Shoe Wall
Yes, it’s unconventional to have shoes in the living room, but in NYC, you make the most of what you’ve got!
Closet Space
Our main closet holds most of my wardrobe, while under-bed drawers store extra clothes. Every inch counts in a studio!
The Kitchen: Small but Mighty
Our kitchen features a marble countertop, two coffee machines (a necessity!), and a cabinet full of mugs. Best of all, we have a dishwasher—a rare gem in NYC apartments.
Our Favorite Feature: The Balcony
With breathtaking views of the One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building, our balcony is a peaceful escape. We’ve added IKEA outdoor furniture and plants to make it a cozy retreat.
The Neighborhood: Convenience at Its Best
Living near the iconic Pepsi-Cola sign, we have everything at our fingertips: coffee shops, restaurants, dog parks, and even ferry access to Manhattan. The building also offers fantastic amenities like a gym, lounge, and a mailroom for packages.
Final Thoughts
Renting in NYC is expensive, but we feel we’ve found a great deal with this apartment, building, and neighborhood. It’s the perfect mix of convenience, style, and comfort.
