I still can’t believe this happened — I spent four incredible days in Chicago attending Lollapalooza with Google Pixel, and it was everything I imagined and more. From the moment we landed, the whole experience felt like we were stepping into a summer dream: live music everywhere, the skyline lit up like a movie scene, and thousands of people dancing their hearts out.
This wasn’t just my first time at Lolla, it was also my first time attending a major U.S. music festival — and I have to say, it was wild in the best possible way.
If you’re wondering what it’s like to go to Lollapalooza, what to expect as a first-timer, or you just want to come along for the ride, here’s a full recap — with outfit changes, food recs, surprising moments, and, of course, the music. 🎶
✈️ Day One: Landing in Chicago and Picking Up Our Wristbands
We landed in Chicago in the afternoon and went straight to pick up our festival wristbands. (Pro tip: don’t skip this — it’s a vibe in itself.) Google and Team Pixel were kind enough to invite us and gift us the tickets, which made everything even more surreal.
And, fun fact: we found out “Chicago” comes from a word that has something to do with onions and garlic — you can hear that whole story (and the chaos that follows) in the video below. 😂

🎸 Day Two: Animal Print, Wristband Payments & Metallica
Let’s talk fashion for a sec — because one of my favorite parts of Lolla was the festival outfits. For Day Two, I wore an animal print dress that felt very “main character,” and yes, I had a moment.
We also learned that you can pay with your wristband, which was completely new to us as South Americans. If you’ve ever been to another Lollapalooza in Argentina, Brazil, or Chile (or any other version of it around the world), you know each one is its own thing — but this blew my mind a little.
As for the music, the clear highlight of the day was Metallica. Even if you’re not a metal fan, seeing them live is an experience. The energy was unmatched.
💃 Day Three: Dancing with Dua Lipa
Okay, Day Three was hands-down my favorite. I wore a cute look (as always), but let’s be honest — it was all about the music.
We saw:
- Dua Lipa — THE highlight. She turned the entire crowd into a giant dance floor. Everyone was singing, moving, glowing.
- King Princess
- Glass Animals
- Crystal Castles (I kept mixing up their names — you’ll see it in the vlog. Classic me.)
The vibe that day felt electric, and even baby (my daughter) was dancing in spirit from afar. 💕
🎧 Day Four: DJ Sets, Green Day & Feeling the Festival Shift
By Day Four, we were a little tired (understandably), but still riding the high of the previous days. We noticed the energy had shifted — a bit fewer people in the streets, and more laid-back sets earlier in the day.
Saturday had been DJ-heavy with remixes, and Sunday closed out with Green Day, which gave the festival a nostalgic finish. Think emo teens grown up into soft-core adults with mortgages and therapy bills (just me?). 😅
Even though I was exhausted, I didn’t want it to end.
Final Thoughts: What I Learned from My First Lollapalooza
If you’re thinking about going to Lolla — do it. Here’s what I took away from the experience:
- You don’t have to know every band to enjoy the festival. We didn’t know half the lineup but still had a blast.
- Comfort matters. Your outfit is cute, but your shoes will thank you if they’re practical.
- Food is underrated. I regret not filming everything we ate because it was so good.
- People-watching is next-level. You’ll see Gen Z in micro skirts, millennials dancing to 2000s throwbacks, and everything in between.
- Go with the flow. The best moments are the spontaneous ones.
And one more thing: if you ever get the chance to go with a partner brand or group — say yes. Google Pixel made this whole experience possible, and it reminded me how tech and creativity can go hand in hand when telling a story.
If you’ve been to Lollapalooza — whether it’s in Argentina, Brazil, or anywhere else — let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear how your experience compared.
