Hi friend 💛
It feels surreal to be typing this blog post and uploading a new YouTube video after such a long time away. I missed this. I missed you. If you’re here—whether you’ve followed me for years or just stumbled upon my corner of the internet recently—thank you for being here. It means more than you know.
So… where have I been? Why did the uploads suddenly stop after those Fashion Week vlogs in 2022? What’s been going on in my life? And what can you expect from this blog and my YouTube channel moving forward?
Let’s catch up. Grab a coffee (or an iced matcha), maybe a snack, and let’s dive in.
👶 A Big Life Update: I Became a Mom!
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already know this, but I became a mom in November 2022! Our daughter, Julia Isabella, arrived three weeks early on November 10th—and she completely changed our world in the most beautiful and exhausting way. Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery are no joke. But every challenge has come with the sweetest rewards.
Julia’s birth shifted everything for me. My schedule, my energy, my priorities. I ended up taking a long, unofficial maternity leave through the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023. Between learning how to be a mom, hosting family who came to visit from Argentina, and running on very little sleep, YouTube and blog content had to take a back seat.
And honestly? I think that’s okay. Sometimes life demands we pause, breathe, and be present.
🧳 Our Dream Baby Moon (and Honeymoon!)
Right before Julia arrived, my husband and I managed to squeeze in a trip we had been dreaming about for years: the Maldives.
It was our baby moon and honeymoon rolled into one. We never had the chance to go on a proper honeymoon after getting married—life and COVID had other plans—but this felt like the perfect moment. I was far enough along in the pregnancy to feel like the clock was ticking, but still okay to fly. We found a great deal and booked it.
Those two weeks were magic. Just us, the ocean, some books, and zero to-do lists. It was the last big adventure before stepping into parenthood, and I’ll always treasure it.
🎄 Celebrating Milestones in NYC
November and December were a whirlwind. Julia was born. My parents and sister came to visit and meet her. And amidst all the sleepless nights and baby cuddles, Argentina WON the World Cup (yes, I’m absolutely putting that in here because it was iconic and emotional and we celebrated in Times Square with hundreds of other Argentinians).
It was also our first Christmas with a real tree, something I never had growing up in Argentina. We decorated it in our NYC apartment, wrapped gifts for the baby (even though she didn’t know what was happening), and had a cozy, unforgettable New Year’s Eve.
📹 I’m Back — And This Time, Consistently!
Okay, so now that I’ve caught you up on where I’ve been… let’s talk about what’s coming up!
📺 Here’s the video version of this update if you prefer to watch me talk it all out:
💡 What You’ll See on My Channel and Blog Moving Forward
This year, I want to be more present here and on YouTube. I’ve missed creating, connecting, and building community. Here’s what I’m planning:
- More Bookish Content: Monthly reading recaps, book-to-movie or book-to-TV adaptations (yes, I’m obsessed with those), and honest reviews from a busy thirty-something who’s reading in the glow of a baby monitor at 2 a.m.
- Motherhood Realness: I’m still figuring out how much I want to share, but I know I’m not alone in navigating new motherhood. Expect posts about what’s worked for us, what hasn’t, and how I’m adjusting.
- YouTube + Creator Life: I want to open up about behind-the-scenes stuff like analytics, monetization, and how YouTube Shorts are performing. If you’re a content creator (or curious about becoming one), I’ve got some juicy details coming soon.
- Vlogs, Apartment Life & NYC Moments: I’m slowly getting back into filming vlogs—both out in the city and at home. I’ll also be sharing more glimpses of our NYC apartment (yes, the living room is finally done!!), and I even want to feature other people’s apartments and neighborhoods too. A little slice-of-life content from New Yorkers I love.
💬 Let’s Talk in the Comments
I always want this to be a two-way conversation. So tell me:
- What kind of content are you craving this year?
- Would you want mini apartment tours?
- Are you into book content? Motherhood stuff? NYC life?
- What’s your 2023 been like so far?
Drop your thoughts in the comments—whether here or on YouTube. I read every single one. 💌
Thanks for catching up with me, friend. It feels so good to be back.
I’m sending love from our little NYC apartment, with my laptop, baby monitor, and iced coffee by my side.
See you in the next one.
xoxo,
Flor
