My Morning Skincare Routine | How to get clear skin, get rid of acne and avoid lines ✨

Hi, friends! 👋

I’ve been getting a ton of DMs and comments asking about my morning skincare routine, so I figured it was time to sit down and film a proper video about it—and of course, also share all the details here on the blog! Whether you’re a skincare beginner or just curious about the products I’m currently loving, I hope this post helps you feel a little more inspired and a lot more organized when it comes to your own morning routine.

First things first: here’s the video in case you want to watch me go through everything step by step. Feel free to come back here after to read more in depth about what I use, why I use it, and the little skincare habits that have made a huge difference for me over time 💆‍♀️👇

Why I Care About My Skincare Routine

For me, skincare is more than just a list of products—it’s a daily ritual. As a mom, content creator, and human trying to keep it all together, I honestly look forward to this quiet moment in the morning when it’s just me, my coffee, and my little shelf of products. Taking care of my skin helps me start the day grounded, refreshed, and feeling just a little more like myself.

My Skincare Shelf Setup

Let’s talk storage real quick, because this has been a game-changer. I keep my skincare products lined up in the order I use them—yes, literally. It makes mornings so much easier, and it also helps me actually stick to the routine without skipping steps or forgetting what goes where.

Highly recommend doing this if you’re trying to build your own routine. Trust me, it makes everything feel way more manageable.

Step 1: Cleanser 🧼

Most mornings, I wash my face in the shower. It just works better with my schedule, and I love how refreshed I feel right after. If for some reason I’m not showering right away, I use my Biore face cleanser with my Foreo Luna 2 for a deep yet gentle clean.

Why it matters: Cleansing removes impurities, leftover makeup, and anything else your skin has picked up overnight. It’s the foundation of a good routine, and it really helps prevent breakouts.

Step 2: Toner ✨

I use a detox toner from Biore, applied with a reusable cotton pad. It makes my skin feel extra clean and preps it for what’s next.

Pro tip: Toner isn’t just about removing what your cleanser might’ve missed—it actually helps repair your skin barrier so it can better absorb everything you put on top.

Step 3: Exfoliant 💫

Okay, I’m obsessed with the Paula’s Choice BHA Liquid Exfoliant. It’s a chemical exfoliant, so I apply it after toner (if you use a physical one, reverse that order!).

I focus on my oily t-zone but also apply it all over using my trusty reusable pads. I’ve had the same set for over 3 years, and they’re still going strong 💪

Why I never skip this step: Exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, which means clearer skin and better absorption of the rest of your products. Win-win.

Step 4: Serum 💧

Currently loving the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum by Drunk Elephant. It’s packed with pineapple ceramide and pro-vitamin B5—so it hydrates, smooths texture, and gives that subtle glow we all want.

Serums = targeted treatment. They’re more potent and designed to address specific concerns (hello, fine lines and pigmentation).

Step 5: Eye Cream 👁️

Don’t sleep on eye cream. I use one by Bliss that’s formulated with caffeine, peptides, and plant stem cells.

The skin around your eyes is super delicate, and regular use of eye cream can really help reduce puffiness and dark circles—especially if you’re like me and never get enough sleep 🥲

Step 6: Face Cream 🧴

Still in my Drunk Elephant era. Their face cream dispenser is amazing—it gives you the perfect amount of product without the mess.

Why it matters: This step seals in all the moisture, smooths fine lines, and keeps everything plump and bouncy. It’s like a hug for your face.

I also have a little habit of adding a tiny sticker with the day I opened the product—just to make sure I don’t use it past its expiration date. You can totally do this with a Sharpie or just log it on your phone if you’re more digital. Trust me, expired skincare is not the vibe.

Step 7: Sunscreen (Yes, Even Indoors) ☀️

This is the most important step. SPF isn’t optional. I apply it every single morning, rain or shine, summer or winter—even if I’m not leaving the apartment.

Why? Because sunscreen is hands-down the best anti-aging product and helps prevent skin cancer. Make it your skincare non-negotiable.

Bonus: Lip Balm + Lash Serum 💋👁️

I finish off with a lip balm by Mario Badescu (so nourishing!) and the Grande Cosmetics lash serum, which has seriously changed the game for my lashes. They’ve grown so much thicker and longer since I started using it—it’s officially a part of my daily routine now.

Final Thoughts 💭

I know skincare can feel a little overwhelming, especially when you’re just starting out or trying to switch things up. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that consistency truly does pay off.

You don’t need a million products, and you definitely don’t need to spend a fortune—just find what works for your skin and make time for it every day.

I hope this video and blog post gave you a few new ideas or product recs to try. And if you have a morning routine you swear by, I’d love to hear about it! Leave a comment below or come chat with me on Instagram 💬
