Hey there, lovely people!
Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, where I share snippets of my life as a millennial juggling motherhood, content creation, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with life in New York City. If you’re new here, hi! I’m Flor, a lifestyle content creator based in NYC. I’m thrilled to bring you along for a few eventful, and honestly pretty exhausting, days in my life. From exploring new skincare brands to strolling through fall-decorated streets, it’s been a whirlwind–but the best kind.
Before we jump in, here’s my latest vlog that inspired this post. Check it out, and keep reading for all the backstory and juicy details!
Skincare and SoulCycle Adventures
This week started with me attending an event for a skincare brand, Irene Forte, that I had never heard of before. I always find it exciting to discover brands that are new to me–whether they’re emerging or have been around internationally and just hit the U.S. market. Their products seemed promising, and we had a lovely lunch at the Public Hotel. If you’ve never been to the Public, add it to your list of places to visit in NYC. From the chic lobby to the coffee shop that opens into a cozy lounge, it’s a spot that feels equal parts posh and welcoming. And, of course, their iconic escalators by the entrance are an instant Instagram moment.
Later that week, I went to another skincare-related event at SoulCycle. When I tell you I was not prepared, I mean it. For those of you who haven’t tried SoulCycle, it’s a spin class but with a twist–you’re not just cycling; you’re moving, grooving, and (for me, at least) fighting for your life. It was intense! I had no idea how out of shape I was, but I survived, and by the end, it actually felt great to have pushed myself.
Between these two events, I’m now stocked with new skincare goodies to try, so expect some upcoming reviews–especially for my fellow skincare junkies out there.
A Facial and New Discoveries
Speaking of skincare, I also treated myself to a facial at a relatively new spot called Fild Studio. It’s right in the heart of Soho (another must-visit if you’re in NYC). Keiko, my aesthetician, worked her magic with some cleaning, extractions (ouch but worth it), and a facial massage that left me glowing. It was such a relaxing experience, and honestly, it’s something I need to prioritize more often.
A Lunch Date with Cybex
From skincare to strollers – talk about versatility, right? I headed to a lunch with Cybex, which, if you follow me regularly, you already know is my go-to brand for baby gear. Julia (my almost-one-year-old daughter) has three different Cybex strollers, and they’ve been lifesavers. I use one for everyday walks, another for travel, and a third, fancier one for events. I’m so pumped about their new collection of Priam strollers and can’t wait to check them out. It was such a great event–filled with conversations, laughter, and this gorgeous keepsake blanket they gifted me with Julia’s name on it (which I carried all the way home on the subway… my poor arm).
After the lunch, I found myself on the Upper East Side–one of my favorite areas in the city, especially in late October when Halloween decorations are on full display. I couldn’t resist taking a little Halloween-themed city walk. Fall in New York is just unmatched. The crisp air, the golden leaves, and those incredibly extra brownstones decorated with pumpkins and spider webs–it’s like stepping into a movie.
The Best Months to Visit NYC (IMHO)
Speaking of fall, I have to say October is hands-down one of the best months to visit New York City. The weather is perfect, the city is alive with autumnal energy, and the Halloween decorations make every street feel like a set from Hocus Pocus. My top three months for NYC visits are October, May (spring vibes without the summer heat), and December (because hello, Christmas magic). Sure, December can be overwhelming with the crowds, but the holiday lights and festive spirit make it totally worth it.
Upcoming Projects & Plans
Now, onto some future plans! If you follow my channel, you know I’ve always done NYC-centric content, from apartment tours to random neighborhood moments. But I’ve been craving a slight change. Instead of just sharing my influencer events and daily vlogs, I want to do more videos that showcase the city itself, like a local’s guide to NYC.
I’m working on a concept for a series where I take you along to my favorite spots in different neighborhoods–from the best coffee shops to must-visit parks and places to eat. Whether you’re planning your first trip or you just want a virtual tour of the city, I want these videos to be your one-stop guide.
And–drumroll please–I’m seriously considering doing Vlogmas this December! For those unfamiliar, it’s basically daily vlogs leading up to Christmas. While the idea of filming and editing 25 back-to-back videos is wild (especially with a baby and year-end work commitments), I’m thinking about doing a mini version. I’d love to show you my favorite holiday spots in the city, the best Christmas markets, and all the festive vibes that make New York in December feel like magic.
Your Input Matters
Now, I need your help, my amazing readers. If there are specific neighborhoods or places in New York you’d love to see featured in my upcoming content, drop your suggestions in the comments! Whether it’s your dream location you’ve never visited or a hidden gem you’ve heard whispers about, I’d love to check it out and share it with you. Also, tell me what you think about the whole Vlogmas idea–should I go for it or keep it chill this year?
Thank you so much for sticking with me and being part of this community. Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel, hit the notification bell, and follow me here for more updates. I’ll see you in the next post (or video).
With love,
Flor.
