My Favorite Podcasts Right Now (and Why You’ll Love Them Too)

If you’ve been around here for a while, you probably know I’m a huge fan of books, planning, productivity, content creation… but one thing I haven’t talked much about on my channel until now? Podcasts.

Honestly, I don’t even know why I’ve waited so long to share this side of me because podcasts are such a big part of my daily life. I listen to them while I get ready, when I go for walks, or when I need that extra dose of inspiration. Whether I want to catch up on what’s happening in the world or learn from other creatives, there’s always a podcast that fits the mood.

So today, I’m finally sharing my favorite podcasts across three different categories:

Podcasts about how brands were built

Podcasts that keep me informed about the world

Podcasts by and for content creators like us

🎙️ Podcasts About the Stories Behind the Brands We Know

There’s something so motivating about hearing how a successful brand got started—especially when you realize it all began with someone who was just figuring it out as they went. These are the podcasts I listen to when I need that reminder that dreams are built one step at a time.

1. How I Built This with Guy Raz

This was the podcast that got me hooked on podcasts in the first place. I found it about five years ago, and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

Each episode dives deep into the backstory of a well-known brand—Mailchimp, SoulCycle, Canva, JetBlue, Dropbox, you name it—and explores how the founders turned an idea into something real. What I love most is how Guy Raz creates an actual narrative. He doesn’t just ask the right questions; he tells a story.

My favorite part? At the end of every episode, Guy asks, “How much of your success do you think is luck?” And I love how honest everyone is in admitting that yes, luck plays a part—but so do risk, resilience, and relentless work.

2. Fat Mascara with Jessica Matlin & Jennifer Sullivan

If you’re into beauty, this one’s for you. These two beauty editors and best friends interview industry insiders—from Kim Kardashian to Victoria Beckham—and talk about everything from product launches to business pivots. It’s inspiring and fun.

3. Second Life with Hillary Kerr

This podcast explores how people reinvent themselves and start new careers—something that hits home for so many of us. I find it so comforting to hear stories of women who took a chance on something new (and sometimes scary) and created lives they love.

🌍 Podcasts That Keep Me Informed (But in a Way That Doesn’t Overwhelm Me)

Staying up to date with everything happening in the world can feel like a full-time job. These podcasts help me stay informed without doomscrolling or feeling overwhelmed. And they explain complex things in a way that’s easy to digest—perfect for listening while making breakfast or commuting.

1. The Daily by The New York Times

Hosted by Michael Barbaro, this podcast is one of my favorites for understanding the why behind the headlines. From politics and elections to global conflicts and social change, they go deep into stories that matter—always with expert insights.

Some standout episodes I’ve loved:

  • Why billionaires pay so little taxes
  • Behind the COVID vaccine race in different countries
  • What the Japanese really thought about the Olympics
  • U.S. elections explained in detail

2. Other Great Daily/News Podcasts

If you’re looking to add variety to your news lineup, I recommend:

💻 Podcasts for Creators, by Creators

These are the ones that make me feel seen. As someone who creates online content and works for myself, I love hearing how others approach their creative process, balance work and life, and deal with burnout or self-doubt.

1. The Bliss Bean Show by Patricia

This is one of my absolute favorites at the moment. I discovered Beatrice’s YouTube channel a couple of years ago, and I love her thoughtful content around personal development, productivity, and creativity. Her podcast feels super personal—like sitting down for a real, honest conversation about her goals, routines, and the ups and downs of being a creator. It’s inspiring and grounding at the same time.

2. Life with Marianna by Marianna Hewitt

Marianna is a lifestyle influencer with a huge following, and her podcast is full of conversations with beauty and fashion experts, fellow content creators, and entrepreneurs. She dives into the real stories behind building a brand and navigating life online, which I find super insightful.

3. The Real Reel by Natalie Barbu

I’ve followed Natalie’s YouTube journey for a while, and her podcast is another favorite. She interviews not only creators but also professionals in all kinds of industries, talking about careers, creativity, and how people are building meaningful (and profitable) lives on their own terms. It’s authentic, refreshing, and full of valuable takeaways.

4. Pretty Basic by Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz

If you’re in the mood for something more casual and fun, Pretty Basic is such a great listen. Alisha and Remi are longtime YouTubers and real-life best friends. Their chemistry is amazing, and they talk about everything from dating to mental health to the realities of creating content in LA. It’s funny, relatable, and always makes me feel like I’m chatting with friends.
