Vlogmas Day 12: Exploring New York City During the Holidays

Hey friends!

I can’t believe it—we’ve made it to Vlogmas Day 12! What an incredible ride this has been. Over these past 12 days, we’ve been all over New York City together. From uptown to downtown and even across the bridge to Brooklyn, we’ve explored the magic, the charm, and the chaos (the good kind!) of NYC during the holiday season.

This vlog is the final chapter of our Vlogmas series, and I think I saved one of the best days for last. Before we jump into today’s adventures, I just want to say thank you for tagging along on this whirlwind holiday season with me. Whether you’ve been here from the start, or if you just stumbled upon my channel (hi, hello, welcome!), I’m so glad you’re here. Now, back to business. On this last day of Vlogmas, I ventured to a few of my favorite spots in NYC. Stick around, because the day ends with a surprise Christmas tree that absolutely blew my mind! And of course, you’ll find the vlog embedded right here, so you can watch the magic yourself:

Strolling Through Columbus Circle

We started off the day at Columbus Circle, right at that iconic border where Midtown meets Uptown. For anyone visiting during the holidays, this is an absolute must-see. It’s a hub of life, especially during December!

Nestled in this area is the Columbus Circle Holiday Market, where you’ll find stalls of festive treats, handmade gifts, and cozy vibes galore. It’s the kind of place that forces you to slow down and just enjoy the season. The sugary smell of roasted chestnuts, the twinkling lights, the light chatter of people mingling and shopping… it’s a vibe, people! If you’re a sucker for markets like I am, you’ll love it here.

Pro tip: Grab a hot chocolate while you’re perusing the market. There’s something about walking around with a warm cup in your hand in the crisp winter air that feels so romantic, even if you’re just on a solo mission like I was.

Wollman Rink Hidden Magic

Next up, I headed to Central Park, where I had one thing on my mind—ice skating at Wollman Rink.

Now, I know all the hype goes to Rockefeller Center’s rink, and don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing and super iconic (cue all the rom-com movie moments). But if you want my unbiased opinion, Wollman Rink is where it’s at.

This has been my rink since I was a kid; it’s been over 20 years since I laced up my skates here for the first time! Something about this place just hits differently. The way the rink is tucked into Central Park with the city skyline towering in the background? It’s straight-up dreamy. And as I looked around at the shimmering buildings along Billionaires’ Row, I couldn’t help but feel like I was in a snow globe.

It’s bigger, less crowded than Rockefeller (most days), and the vibes are just immaculate. If you’ve been thinking about skating in NYC during the holidays, I 100% recommend this spot. Even if you’re not a pro skater like me (and trust me, I’m far from that), it’s a fun way to soak in the magic of the season.

The Perfect Finale at One Beacon Court

To wrap up the day, and the whole Vlogmas adventure, I visited a Christmas tree I’d never seen before. Tucked away at One Beacon Court, this stunning tree completely took my breath away. It’s located in a part-residential, part-business area, so it’s not as wildly crowded as the Rockefeller or Bryant Park trees.

The lights on this tree have this almost surreal glow; they somehow look even better in videos than in person—which made it the perfect place to record my final destination for the series! There was something so peaceful yet spectacular about ending the day here, by this hidden gem of a tree, reflecting on everything we saw and did during these 12 days.

A Heartfelt Goodbye… for Now!

It’s crazy to think that this series is over. Putting together 12 days of videos has been such a labor of love. From filming all around NYC to editing (oh my god, editing!), this has been such a rewarding experience. Not to mention, it pushed me to explore parts of the city I might not have gone to otherwise, alongside revisiting spots that feel like old friends.

I hope that if you’ve been watching along, you’ve enjoyed the ride. Maybe you even picked up a new holiday travel idea or two for your next trip to NYC! And most of all, I hope you’ll stick around. 2024 is going to bring a whole new set of adventures, and I’m so excited to share them with you.

Thank you for spending your time with me, whether you’ve watched one video or all 12. It means the world. And if you’re celebrating Christmas, Merry Christmas! If not, I hope this season fills your heart with joy and light. Until next time, friends, see you in 2024!

Big hugs,
Flor ❤️
